🧾 Ingredients

  • 300–500 g beef (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 2 stalks fresh lemongrass (Lemongrass), finely minced
  • 3–4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1–2 green chilies (optional)
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional but recommended)
  • 1 tsp sugar or honey
  • 2–3 tbsp cooking oil
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Splash of water or beef stock

🔥 Step-by-step

1. Prepare the beef

  • Slice beef thinly for quick cooking
  • Marinate 10–15 minutes with:
    • 1 tbsp soy sauce
    • pinch of black pepper
    • 1 tsp oil

2. Build the aromatics

  • Heat oil in a pan or wok
  • Add minced lemongrass, garlic, and chilies
  • Stir-fry until very fragrant (about 30–60 seconds)

3. Cook the beef

  • Add beef in a single layer
  • Stir-fry on high heat until browned but still tender (2–4 minutes)

4. Add sauce & vegetables

  • Add onion, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar
  • Splash in a little water or stock to loosen
  • Stir well and cook 2–3 minutes until sauce slightly thickens

5. Finish

  • Taste and adjust salt/pepper
  • Optional: squeeze a little lime for extra brightness

  • Steamed rice (classic pairing)
  • Egg noodles for a richer meal
  • Fresh cucumber or herb salad on the side

💡 Tips

  • Slice beef very thin for tenderness
  • Don’t overcook—beef should stay juicy
