Method

  1. Boil potatoes in salted water until soft.
  2. Mash while hot.
  3. Mix in butter and warm milk until smooth and fluffy.
  4. Adjust salt.

🍗 Simple Brown Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter or chicken drippings
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups chicken stock
  • Salt & black pepper

Method

  1. Melt butter in pan.
  2. Whisk in flour and cook 1–2 minutes (light brown).
  3. Slowly add stock, whisking until smooth.
  4. Simmer until thick.
  5. Season to taste.

🥬 Green Beans

Ingredients

  • 250–300 g green beans (trimmed)
  • 1 tbsp butter or olive oil
  • Salt, pepper
  • Optional: garlic

Method

  1. Boil or steam green beans for 3–5 minutes (keep them slightly crisp).
  2. Sauté in butter with garlic.
  3. Season and serve warm.
