🍌 Fried Banana Fritters (Banana Pakoras / Banana Fritters)

Crispy outside, soft and sweet inside—these fried banana fritters are a quick snack or dessert made with simple pantry ingredients.

🧾 Ingredients:

  • 2–3 ripe bananas (firm, not overripe)
  • ¾ cup all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour)
  • 2 tbsp cornflour (for extra crispiness)
  • 2 tbsp sugar (optional, for sweet version)
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ tsp cinnamon or cardamom (optional)
  • Water (as needed for batter)
  • Oil for deep frying

👩‍🍳 Method:

1. Make batter:

  • In a bowl, mix flour, cornflour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and spices.
  • Slowly add water to make a thick, smooth batter (not runny).

2. Prepare bananas:

  • Peel and slice bananas into thick rounds or long strips.

3. Coat & fry:

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Dip banana pieces into batter and carefully drop into hot oil.
  • Fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.

4. Drain:

  • Remove and place on paper towels to absorb excess oil.

🍽️ Serving ideas:

  • Dust with powdered sugar
  • Drizzle with honey or chocolate sauce
  • Serve with tea or coffee

🌟 Tips:

  • Use slightly firm bananas so they don’t melt while frying
  • Oil should be medium-hot (too hot = burnt outside, raw inside)
  • Add a pinch of cinnamon for a dessert-style flavor

If you want, I can also give you:

  • Coconut-coated banana fritters 🥥
  • Savory spicy banana pakoras 🌶️
  • Or an air fryer version (low oil) 🍌
