🍰 Freshly Baked Marble Cake

A soft, buttery marble cake combines vanilla and chocolate batters swirled together for a beautiful “marbled” pattern and rich flavor in every slice.


🧾 Ingredients:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ½ cup butter (softened)
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp hot water (to mix cocoa)

👩‍🍳 Method:

1. Prep oven:

  • Preheat to 180°C (350°F)
  • Grease and line a loaf or round cake pan

2. Make batter:

  • In a bowl, whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla.
  • Mix in dry ingredients alternately with milk until smooth.

3. Make chocolate swirl:

  • Take 1/3 of the batter and mix it with cocoa powder + hot water until smooth.

4. Assemble:

  • Pour vanilla batter into pan.
  • Add spoonfuls of chocolate batter on top.
  • Use a knife to gently swirl and create a marble pattern.

5. Bake:

  • Bake for 35–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

6. Cool & serve:

  • Let it cool before slicing for clean marbled layers.
