Cherry Cream Cheese Bars

Here’s a classic homemade recipe:


🍒 Cherry Cream Cheese Bars

📝 Ingredients

Crust & Topping:

  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Cream Cheese Layer:

  • 8 oz (1 block) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Topping:

  • 1 can (21 oz) cherry pie filling

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
Grease or line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.

2️⃣ Make the crust:
Mix butter, flour, sugar, and salt until crumbly.
Press about 2/3 of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan.

3️⃣ Make the cream cheese layer:
Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
Add egg and vanilla; mix until creamy.
Spread evenly over the crust.

4️⃣ Add cherry filling:
Spoon cherry pie filling evenly over the cream cheese layer.

5️⃣ Add crumb topping:
Sprinkle remaining dough mixture over the cherries.

6️⃣ Bake for 40–45 minutes, until golden on top.

7️⃣ Cool completely, then refrigerate at least 2 hours before cutting into squares.


✨ Tips

  • Chill before slicing for clean layers.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired.
  • You can substitute blueberry or strawberry pie filling.
