Oregano Herbal Tea

Posted on February 28, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple, safe way to make oregano herbal tea 🌿

Oregano tea is traditionally used for mild digestive discomfort, cough, and cold support — but it’s not a cure-all.

🌿 What You’ll Need

  • 1 teaspoon dried Oregano
    OR 3–4 fresh leaves
  • 1 cup (240 ml) hot water
  • Optional: honey or lemon

☕ How to Make It

1️⃣ Boil water and let it cool slightly (about 1 minute after boiling).
2️⃣ Add oregano to a cup.
3️⃣ Pour hot water over it.
4️⃣ Cover and steep 5–10 minutes.
5️⃣ Strain, then add honey or lemon if desired.

Drink warm.

🌿 Potential Benefits

  • May soothe mild cough or sore throat
  • Can help with bloating or mild digestive upset
  • Provides antioxidants
  • Mild antimicrobial properties

⚠️ Important Safety Notes

  • Do not drink large amounts daily long-term.
  • Avoid concentrated oregano oil unless guided by a professional.
  • If you have asthma, chronic bronchitis, or a serious infection, tea alone is not treatment.
  • If pregnant or on blood thinners, consult a healthcare provider.

💡 Simple Tip

For respiratory comfort, you can also inhale steam from the hot tea (carefully) for a few minutes.

If you’d like, I can also share when oregano tea should not be used — that’s just as important.
