Here’s a simple, hearty, and healthy recipe using ground beef and chopped cabbage. It’s a one-pan meal that’s easy to make and packed with flavor.


Ground Beef and Cabbage Skillet

Ingredients

  • 500 g (1 lb) ground beef
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or butter)
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • Optional: chili flakes, soy sauce, or Worcestershire sauce for extra flavor

Instructions

  1. Cook the beef
    • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
    • Add ground beef and cook until browned.
    • Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
    • Remove excess fat if necessary.
  2. Cook the vegetables
    • In the same skillet, add onion and garlic. Sauté for 2–3 minutes until softened.
    • Add chopped cabbage and stir well.
  3. Simmer
    • Cover and cook for 8–10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender but slightly crisp.
    • Optional: splash in 1–2 tablespoons of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce for depth of flavor.
  4. Serve
    • Taste and adjust seasoning.
    • Serve hot as a main dish or with rice, noodles, or mashed potatoes.

Tips

  • Add carrots or bell peppers for more color and nutrition.
  • Sprinkle with fresh parsley or green onions before serving.
  • For a low-carb option, skip rice and enjoy as is — the cabbage adds bulk and fiber.

This dish is quick, comforting, and perfect for busy weeknights.
