🧾 Ingredients

  • 8–10 slices white bread (soft sandwich bread works best)
  • 2–3 tbsp softened butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1–2 tsp ground cinnamon

French toast coating:

  • 2 eggs
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

For cooking:

  • Butter or oil for frying

Optional topping:

  • Powdered sugar
  • Maple syrup
  • Cream cheese glaze (very cinnamon-roll style)

1. Prepare the bread

  • Trim crusts off each slice (optional but helps rolling).
  • Flatten each slice with a rolling pin until thin.

2. Make cinnamon filling

  • Mix softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon into a paste.

3. Fill & roll

  • Spread a thin layer of the cinnamon mixture on each slice.
  • Roll tightly into a log and press seam gently to seal.

4. Make egg mixture

  • Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt in a bowl.

5. Dip & coat

  • Dip each roll-up quickly in the egg mixture (don’t soak too long or they get soggy).

6. Cook

  • Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
  • Fry roll-ups, turning until all sides are golden brown and slightly crispy (about 3–5 minutes total).

7. Serve

  • Dust with powdered sugar or drizzle with maple syrup or cream cheese glaze.
