Cheesy Amish Beef & Bell Pepper Bake is a comforting, old-fashioned casserole-style dish—simple ingredients, rich flavor, and lots of melted cheese. It’s hearty, budget-friendly, and great for family dinners.

🧀 Cheesy Amish Beef & Bell Pepper Bake

🛒 Ingredients

  • 500g ground beef
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2–3 bell peppers (any colors), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (400g) diced tomatoes (or crushed tomatoes)
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 cup cooked rice (optional but traditional in many versions)
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella work well)
  • 2 tbsp oil or butter

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the beef
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.

2. Add aromatics
Stir in onion and garlic. Cook until softened and fragrant.

3. Add peppers
Mix in sliced bell peppers and cook for 5–7 minutes until slightly tender but still colorful.

4. Build the base
Add diced tomatoes, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let simmer for 5–10 minutes.

5. Add rice (optional)
If using rice, stir it in now to make the bake more filling.

6. Assemble & cheese it up
Transfer mixture to a baking dish. Top generously with shredded cheese.

7. Bake
Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 15–20 minutes, or until cheese is melted, bubbly, and slightly golden.
