🥧 Classic Apple Pie

A warm, buttery apple pie is all about flaky crust and soft, cinnamon-spiced apples—comfort food at its best.

🛒 Ingredients

For the filling:

  • 6–7 medium apples (Granny Smith or similar) Apple
  • 1/2 cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1–2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg (optional)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour or cornstarch (to thicken)
  • 1 tbsp butter

For the crust:

  • 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade) Apple pie (commonly used pie base)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash, optional)
  • 1 tbsp milk (for brushing crust)

🔥 Step 1: Prepare the apples

  • Peel, core, and slice apples.
  • Toss them with lemon juice to prevent browning.
  • Mix in sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and flour.
  • Let sit for 10–15 minutes to release juices.

🥧 Step 2: Assemble the pie

  • Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F).
  • Place one pie crust in a baking dish.
  • Add apple filling evenly.
  • Dot with small pieces of butter.
  • Cover with second crust (or make a lattice top).

✨ Step 3: Seal and finish

  • Pinch edges to seal.
  • Cut small slits on top for steam.
  • Brush with egg wash for a golden crust.

  • Bake for 45–55 minutes, until crust is golden and filling is bubbling.
  • If crust browns too fast, cover edges with foil.

🍽️ Step 5: Serve

  • Let it cool at least 20–30 minutes before slicing.
  • Best served warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
