Strawberry jam recipe—sweet, fresh, and no preservatives.

🍓 Strawberry Jam (Homemade)

🧂 Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries (washed, hulled, chopped)
  • 1 to 1½ cups sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice (helps set and balances sweetness)

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook strawberries

  • Add strawberries to a pan over medium heat.
  • Cook for 5–10 minutes until they soften and release juice.

2. Add sugar

  • Stir in sugar and mix well.
  • Keep cooking on medium-low heat, stirring often.

3. Add lemon juice

  • Add lemon juice and continue simmering.
  • Skim off any foam that forms on top.

4. Thicken the jam

  • Cook for 20–30 minutes until it thickens.
  • To test: place a drop on a cold plate—if it wrinkles when pushed, it’s ready.

5. Cool & store

  • Let it cool completely.
  • Pour into a clean, dry glass jar.
  • Store in the fridge for up to 2–3 weeks.

🍯 Tips for best jam

  • Mash strawberries for smoother jam or leave chunks for texture.
  • Don’t overcook or it will become too thick after cooling.
  • Add a pinch of salt to enhance flavor (optional).
  • For extra shine, add a small knob of butter at the end.

  • On toast, pancakes, or waffles
  • As cake filling or dessert topping
  • Swirled into yogurt or oatmeal
