Orange cake

Here’s a simple, moist orange cake recipe you can make at home.

🍊 Easy Orange Cake

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • ¾ cup fresh orange juice
  • 1–2 tbsp orange zest (very important for flavor)
  • ½ cup plain yogurt or milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

Optional glaze

  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp orange juice

👩‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, beat sugar and eggs until slightly fluffy.
  4. Add oil, orange juice, zest, yogurt, and vanilla. Mix well.
  5. Slowly add dry ingredients into wet mixture. Stir until just combined (don’t overmix).
  6. Pour into prepared pan.
  7. Bake for 30–40 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Let it cool before removing from pan.

🍯 Optional orange glaze

Mix powdered sugar with orange juice and drizzle over the cooled cake for extra sweetness and shine.
