Smashburger Quesadillas

Posted on April 22, 2026 by Admin

Smashburger quesadillas are basically the lovechild of a crispy-edged smash burger and a cheesy quesadilla—thin smashed beef, melty cheese, and a toasted tortilla that gets golden and crunchy like a grilled cheese.

Here’s a simple, high-impact version:

🌮 Smashburger Quesadillas

Ingredients (2 large quesadillas)

  • 300–400g ground beef (fatty mince works best)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • Garlic powder (optional)
  • 4 large flour tortillas
  • 1–2 cups shredded cheddar or American cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely sliced (optional)
  • Pickles (optional but very “smashburger” style)
  • Butter or oil for frying

Sauce (quick burger-style)

  • 2 tbsp mayo
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tsp mustard
  • Pinch of paprika or chili powder

🔥 Instructions

1. Prep the beef

  • Divide beef into 2–4 thin loose balls (don’t compact too tightly).
  • Season with salt and pepper.

2. Smash it

  • Heat a skillet or griddle on high.
  • Place beef ball directly onto pan.
  • Immediately press down hard with a spatula (or burger press) to make a thin patty.
  • Cook 1–2 minutes until edges are crispy, then flip and cook 30–60 seconds more.
  • Break into smaller crispy pieces in the pan.

3. Build the quesadilla

  • On a tortilla, sprinkle cheese first (important for glue).
  • Add smashed beef, onions, pickles, and a drizzle of sauce.
  • Top with more cheese and another tortilla.

4. Toast it

  • Melt butter in a pan.
  • Cook quesadilla 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crisp.
  • Press lightly while cooking for maximum crunch.

5. Slice & serve

  • Cut into wedges like a pizza.
  • Serve with extra sauce for dipping.

💡 Tips for next-level results

  • Use American cheese + cheddar mix for gooey + sharp combo.
  • Don’t overcook the beef—you want crispy edges, juicy inside.
  • Cook on higher heat for that signature “smashburger crust.”
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce if you want a spicy version.

If you want, I can turn this into a McDonald’s-style Big Mac quesadilla, a chicken version, or a budget street-food version using naan or paratha instead of tortillas.
