Garlic Butter Steak + Creamy Parmesan Tortellini

🛒 Ingredients

🥩 For the steak

  • 2 ribeye or sirloin steaks (or any tender cut)
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3–4 cloves garlic (smashed or minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1 tbsp oil (for searing)
  • Fresh rosemary or thyme (optional)

🧀 For creamy Parmesan tortellini

  • 300–400g cheese tortellini
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 cup heavy cream (or cooking cream)
  • 3/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Pasta water (as needed to loosen sauce)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

🥩 1. Cook the steak

  • Pat steaks dry and season with salt, pepper, and paprika
  • Heat oil in a hot skillet until shimmering
  • Sear steak 3–4 minutes per side (depending on thickness)
  • Add butter, garlic, and herbs
  • Spoon melted garlic butter over steak for 1–2 minutes
  • Remove and let rest for 5–10 minutes

🧀 2. Make creamy Parmesan tortellini

  • Boil tortellini according to package instructions, then drain
  • In a pan, melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant
  • Add cream and simmer 2–3 minutes
  • Stir in Parmesan until smooth and creamy
  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning
  • Add tortellini and toss to coat
  • Use a splash of pasta water if sauce is too thick

🍽️ 3. Serve

  • Slice steak against the grain
  • Serve over or beside creamy Parmesan tortellini
  • Drizzle extra garlic butter from the pan on top

💡 Tips for best results

  • Let steak rest so juices stay inside
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for smoother sauce
  • Don’t overcook tortellini—it should stay soft but not mushy
  • Add mushrooms or spinach to the sauce for extra flavor

🔥 Optional upgrades

  • Chili flakes for a spicy kick
  • Lemon zest for freshness
  • Extra garlic butter drizzle for steakhouse-style richness

If you want, I can also make:

  • 🧄 Air fryer steak version
  • 🍝 One-pan version (no separate pasta pot)
  • 🧀 Extra cheesy “Alfredo overload” version
  • 🥗 Lighter, low-calorie version
