Beef lasagne

Beef Lasagne is a classic layered Italian-style baked pasta dish made with rich meat sauce, creamy white sauce, and cheese. It comes from Lasagna and is one of the most popular comfort foods worldwide.


🍝 🥩 Beef Lasagne Recipe (Homemade)

🧾 Ingredients

🥩 Beef sauce (ragù)

  • 500g minced beef
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 3–4 garlic cloves (crushed)
  • 2 cups tomato puree or pasta sauce
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • Salt & black pepper
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp oregano or mixed herbs
  • 2 tbsp oil

🥛 White sauce (béchamel)

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • Salt & pepper

🧀 Other

  • Lasagne sheets
  • 1–2 cups grated cheese (mozzarella or cheddar)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make beef sauce

  • Heat oil, sauté onion and garlic
  • Add minced beef and cook until browned
  • Add tomato paste + sauce + spices
  • Simmer 15–20 minutes until thick

2. Make white sauce

  • Melt butter in pan
  • Add flour and cook 1 minute
  • Slowly add milk, whisk until smooth
  • Cook until slightly thick, season

3. Assemble layers

In a baking dish:

  1. Beef sauce
  2. Lasagne sheets
  3. White sauce
  4. Cheese

Repeat layers 2–3 times.


4. Bake

  • Top with cheese
  • Bake at 180°C for 30–40 minutes
  • Let it rest 10 minutes before cutting

  • Rich, meaty layers

  • Cheesy golden top
  • Soft pasta with deep flavor
