Posted on April 22, 2026 by Admin

Here’s a simple and reliable air fryer flatbread recipe—soft, slightly chewy, and ready in minutes.

🫓 Air Fryer Flatbread (Basic Recipe)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp yogurt (or milk)
  • 2 tbsp oil (plus a little for brushing)
  • ~3/4 cup warm water (adjust as needed)

Optional add-ins

  • Garlic powder or minced garlic
  • Dried herbs (oregano, parsley, thyme)
  • Nigella seeds or sesame seeds

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the dough

  • In a bowl, mix flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • Add yogurt and oil.
  • Slowly add warm water and knead until you get a soft, smooth dough (not sticky).
  • Cover and rest for 20–30 minutes.

2. Shape the flatbreads

  • Divide dough into 4–6 equal balls.
  • Roll each into a thin oval or circle (about 1/4 inch thick).

3. Preheat air fryer

  • Preheat to 180°C (350°F) for 3–5 minutes.

4. Cook

  • Lightly brush flatbread with oil.
  • Place in air fryer basket (don’t overcrowd).
  • Cook at 180°C for 5–7 minutes, flipping halfway.
  • Cook until golden spots appear and it puffs slightly.

5. Serve

Best served warm with:

  • Hummus
  • Curry
  • Garlic butter
  • Yogurt dips

🔥 Tips for better results

  • Thinner dough = crispier flatbread
  • Thicker dough = softer, puffier bread
  • Don’t skip resting time—it improves texture
  • If your air fryer runs hot, reduce time by 1–2 minutes

If you want, I can also give you:

  • No-yeast version
  • Whole wheat healthy version
  • Pizza-style air fryer flatbread
