Here’s a quick, foolproof Air Fryer Steak guide you can use for almost any cut (ribeye, sirloin, strip).


🥩 Air Fryer Steak (Easy Method)

🔧 What you need

  • 1 steak (1–1.5 inches thick works best)
  • Salt + black pepper
  • Optional: garlic powder, paprika, steak seasoning
  • Optional: 1 tsp oil or butter

🔥 Steps

1. Prep

  • Pat steak dry
  • Season generously with salt and pepper
  • Let sit 20–30 minutes (better flavor + juicier steak)

2. Preheat

  • Air fryer: 400°F (200°C) for 3–5 minutes

3. Cook

Place steak in basket in a single layer.

Cook at 400°F (200°C):

  • 🟢 Rare: 7–8 min
  • 🟡 Medium-rare: 9–10 min
  • 🟠 Medium: 11–12 min
  • 🔴 Medium-well: 13–14 min

👉 Flip halfway through


4. Finish (optional but great)

  • Add butter on top in last 1–2 minutes
  • Garlic or herbs = extra flavor boost

5. Rest

  • Let steak rest 5–10 minutes
  • This keeps it juicy (don’t skip this step)

🌡️ Best internal temps

  • Rare: 125°F
  • Medium-rare: 130–135°F
  • Medium: 140–145°F
  • Well done: 155°F+

💡 Pro tips

  • Thicker steak = better air fryer results
  • Don’t overcrowd the basket
  • For a steakhouse crust: quickly sear in a hot pan after air frying
