Old-Fashioned Bologna Salad

Ahh, bologna salad — pure old-school comfort, straight from church picnics and grandma’s fridge 🥪💛
Here’s the classic version, plus a couple easy tweaks if you want.


Old-Fashioned Bologna Salad

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bologna (beef or regular), finely chopped or ground
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2–3 tbsp sweet pickle relish
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • Salt to taste

How to make it

  1. Chop or pulse the bologna in a food processor until fine (not mushy).
  2. Add chopped eggs.
  3. Stir in mayo, relish, mustard, pepper, and salt.
  4. Mix well, cover, and chill at least 1 hour for best flavor.

Optional add-ins (very traditional)

  • Finely diced onion
  • A splash of pickle juice
  • Paprika on top
  • Celery for crunch

  • On soft white bread or toast
  • With crackers
  • In a lettuce wrap
