Apple fritters

Apple fritters are sweet, crispy fried pastries made with chopped apples mixed into a cinnamon-spiced batter, then fried and often glazed or dusted with sugar. They’re crunchy on the outside and soft and fruity inside.


🍎 Apple Fritters (Easy Homemade Recipe)

Ingredients

For the batter:

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Apple filling:

  • 2 medium apples (peeled and diced)
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

For frying:

  • Oil (enough for deep frying)

Optional glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2–3 tbsp milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prepare apples

  • Toss diced apples with sugar and cinnamon.
  • Set aside for 10 minutes.

2. Make batter

  • Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  • In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, and melted butter.
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients until thick batter forms.
  • Fold in apples.

3. Fry

  • Heat oil to medium (around 175°C / 350°F).
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into oil.
  • Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Glaze (optional)

  • Mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla.
  • Drizzle or dip warm fritters.
