🥔 Baked Potatoes

Simple, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside—one of the easiest comfort foods you can make.


🧾 Ingredients

  • 1–4 large baking potatoes (russet or similar)
  • 1–2 tbsp oil or butter
  • Salt (coarse or regular)
  • Optional toppings:
    • Butter
    • Cheese 🧀
    • Sour cream or yogurt
    • Black pepper
    • Herbs (parsley, chives)
    • Chicken, beans, or veggies

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep potatoes

  • Wash and scrub well
  • Dry completely
  • Poke holes with a fork (prevents bursting)

2. Season skin

  • Rub potatoes with oil or butter
  • Sprinkle generously with salt

3. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F)
  • Place potatoes directly on oven rack or tray
  • Bake 45–60 minutes (depending on size)

They’re done when a knife slides in easily.


4. Fluff inside

  • Cut a slit on top
  • Gently squeeze ends to open
  • Fluff with a fork

Add butter so it melts into the steam.


5. Load it up (optional)

Top with your favorites:

  • melted cheese 🧀
  • sour cream
  • herbs
  • chili flakes 🌶️
  • or cooked meat/beans for a full meal
