🍪🍫 Best Chocolate Chip Cookies (Soft, Chewy & Golden)

🛒 Ingredients
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup chocolate chips (or chunks 🍫)
Optional
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans 🌰

🍳 Instructions
1. Preheat oven
Set oven to 175°C (350°F). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
2. Cream butter & sugars
Mix butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until light and fluffy.
3. Add wet ingredients
Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth.
4. Add dry ingredients
Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt.
Mix just until combined—don’t overmix.
5. Add chocolate chips
Fold in chocolate chips (and nuts if using).
6. Shape cookies
Scoop dough into balls and place on tray, leaving space between them.
7. Bake
Bake for 9–12 minutes until edges are golden but centers still soft.
8. Cool
Let rest on tray for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.
