🍗🌶️ Chicken Tikka Masala

Chicken tikka masala is a rich, creamy, and mildly spicy curry made with marinated grilled chicken pieces cooked in a flavorful tomato-based sauce. It’s one of the most popular dishes inspired by South Asian cuisine and widely enjoyed in restaurants around the world.


🧾 Ingredients:

🍗 Chicken tikka:

  • 500g chicken (boneless, cut into cubes)
  • ½ cup yogurt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp oil

🍅 Masala sauce:

  • 2 tbsp butter or oil
  • 1 large onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 tomatoes (pureed)
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp garam masala
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili powder
  • ½ cup cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

👩‍🍳 Method:

1. Marinate chicken:

  • Mix yogurt, lemon juice, spices, and salt.
  • Coat chicken and marinate for 1–2 hours.

2. Cook chicken:

  • Grill, bake, or pan-fry until lightly charred and cooked through.
  • Set aside.

3. Make sauce:

  • Heat butter/oil in a pan.
  • Sauté onions until golden.
  • Add ginger-garlic paste and cook until fragrant.
  • Add tomato puree and cook until thick and oil separates.

4. Add spices:

  • Stir in chili powder, paprika, garam masala, and salt.

5. Finish curry:

  • Add cooked chicken pieces.
  • Pour in cream and simmer for 5–10 minutes.

🍽️ Serving:

  • With naan or roti 🫓
  • With steamed basmati rice 🍚
  • Garnished with fresh coriander
