This dish is crunchy, sticky, sweet, and garlicky—crispy fried chicken pieces tossed in a glossy honey garlic sauce. It’s very similar to Asian takeout style, but easy to make at home.


🧾 Ingredients (3–4 servings)

Chicken

  • 500g chicken breast or thigh, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • ½ cup cornflour (cornstarch)

1. Prepare chicken

  • Season chicken with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Let sit 10–15 minutes.

2. Make batter

  • Mix flour, cornflour, egg, and cold water.
  • Stir until smooth and slightly thick (like pancake batter).

3. Fry chicken (crispy step)

  • Heat oil to medium-high.
  • Dip chicken in batter, coat well.
  • Fry in batches until golden and crispy (4–6 minutes).
  • Remove and drain on paper towels.

4. Make honey garlic sauce

  • In a pan, heat a small splash of oil.

  • Simmer 1–2 minutes until slightly thick and glossy.

5. Combine

  • Add crispy chicken to the sauce.

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and green onions.
  • Serve immediately.
