Crockpot Ham, Green Beans, and Potatoes is a classic one-pot comfort meal—savory, hearty, and super easy because the slow cooker does all the work.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 2–3 cups cooked ham (cubed or leftover ham works great)
  • 1–1.5 lb green beans (fresh trimmed or frozen)
  • 4–6 medium potatoes (quartered or chunked)
  • 1 small onion (sliced, optional but recommended)
  • 3–4 cups chicken broth (or water + bouillon)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp salt (go light—ham is already salty)
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)
  • 1–2 tbsp butter (optional for richness)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Layer the crockpot

  • Add potatoes and onions at the bottom (they take longest to cook).
  • Add ham pieces on top.
  • Add green beans last.

2. Add seasoning & liquid

  • Sprinkle garlic, pepper, salt, and paprika.
  • Pour in chicken broth until ingredients are just covered.

3. Cook

  • LOW: 6–8 hours
  • HIGH: 3–4 hours

Cook until potatoes are tender and green beans are soft.


4. Finish

  • Stir gently.
  • Add butter for extra flavor if desired.
  • Taste and adjust seasoning.

🍽️ Tips

  • If using canned green beans, add them in the last 1–2 hours so they don’t overcook.
  • Smoked ham adds extra depth of flavor.
  • For thicker broth, mash a few potatoes in the crockpot at the end.
