🍞 Dump & Bake French Toast Casserole

🧾 Ingredients:

Base:

  • 6–8 slices bread (stale or fresh, cubed)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 ½ cups milk (or cream for richer texture)
  • ½ cup sugar (or brown sugar)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt

Optional add-ins:

  • Raisins or chopped dates
  • Apple slices or banana
  • Chocolate chips
  • Chopped nuts

Topping (optional but delicious):

  • 2 tbsp butter (melted)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • ½ tsp cinnamon

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Dump everything:

  • Place bread cubes in a greased baking dish
  • Sprinkle any add-ins on top

2. Mix & pour:

  • Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt
  • Pour evenly over the bread
  • Press lightly so bread soaks up the mixture

3. Optional topping:

  • Mix melted butter + brown sugar + cinnamon
  • Drizzle over the top for a caramelized crust

4. Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Bake for 35–45 minutes until golden and set
  • Center should be soft but not watery
