🥩🦐 Garlic Butter Steak Bites with Jumbo Shrimp

A rich “surf and turf” skillet dish—juicy steak bites and tender shrimp cooked in the same pan with garlic butter. Fast, high-protein, and very restaurant-style.


🧾 Ingredients

  • 300–400g steak (sirloin or tender cut), cut into cubes
  • 200–300g jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3–4 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4–5 cloves garlic (minced)
  • Salt & black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika (optional)
  • ½ tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • Lemon juice (for finishing)
  • Fresh parsley (optional)

👩‍🍳 Method

1. Prep protein

  • Pat steak and shrimp dry (important for browning).
  • Season both with salt, pepper, and paprika.

2. Sear steak bites

  • Heat olive oil in a hot skillet.
  • Add steak cubes in a single layer.
  • Sear 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  • Remove and set aside (don’t overcook).

3. Cook shrimp

  • In the same pan, add a little butter.
  • Add shrimp and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  • Remove and set aside with steak.

4. Make garlic butter sauce

  • Lower heat. Add remaining butter.
  • Add garlic and chili flakes.
  • Cook 30–60 seconds until fragrant (don’t burn garlic).

5. Combine

  • Return steak and shrimp to the pan.
  • Toss everything in garlic butter.
  • Finish with lemon juice and parsley.

🍽️ Serving ideas

  • Mashed potatoes or roasted potatoes
  • Rice or buttered noodles
  • Crusty bread to soak sauce

💡 Tips

  • Very hot pan = better steak sear
  • Don’t overcrowd steak or it will steam
  • Shrimp cook fast—overcooking makes them rubbery
  • Add lemon at the end for freshness
