🔥 Instructions

1. Make brownie batter

  • Melt butter, then mix in both sugars.
  • Add eggs and vanilla, whisk until smooth.
  • Stir in cocoa powder.
  • Fold in flour, salt, and baking powder.
  • Pour into a greased 8×8 inch pan.

2. Bake base

  • Bake at 175°C (350°F) for about 18–22 minutes.
  • It should be slightly underbaked (fudgy center is ideal).

3. Make topping

  • In a saucepan, combine evaporated milk, sugar, egg yolk, and butter.
  • Cook on low heat, stirring constantly until thickened (about 8–10 minutes).
  • Remove from heat, add vanilla, coconut, and pecans.

4. Assemble

  • Spread topping over warm brownies.
  • Let set for at least 1 hour before slicing.

You get:

  • Fudgy chocolate base
  • Gooey coconut-pecan caramel layer
  • Sweet, nutty, slightly chewy texture on top
