🍫 Homemade Chocolate Ice Cream Bars

🧾 Ingredients (Ice Cream Base)

  • 2 cups heavy cream (chilled)
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2–3 tbsp cocoa powder (or melted chocolate for richer taste)
  • Pinch of salt

🍫 Chocolate Coating

  • 200–250 g dark or milk chocolate (chopped)
  • 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter (for a smooth snap)

Optional toppings:

  • Chopped nuts (almonds, peanuts)
  • Sprinkles
  • Desiccated coconut

1. Make the ice cream base

  • Whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  • In another bowl, mix condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt.
  • Gently fold the whipped cream into the chocolate mixture until smooth and fluffy.

2. Freeze into bars

  • Pour mixture into a small tray or silicone mold.
  • Insert ice cream sticks (if using a tray).
  • Freeze for 6–8 hours or overnight until solid.

3. Prepare chocolate coating

  • Melt chocolate with coconut oil using a microwave or double boiler.
  • Let it cool slightly (it should be liquid but not hot).

4. Coat the bars

  • Remove frozen bars and quickly dip or drizzle with chocolate.
  • Add toppings immediately before chocolate sets.

5. Set again

  • Place back in freezer for 15–20 minutes to harden the coating.

  • Work fast when dipping so ice cream doesn’t melt.
  • Use very cold freezer temperature for a crisp chocolate shell.
