Hot Fudge Pie

Hot fudge pie is a rich, gooey chocolate dessert that sits somewhere between a brownie and a molten chocolate cake. The center stays soft and fudgy while the top forms a light crust.

Here’s a classic homemade version:

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter (melted)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder (unsweetened)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or chocolate chips

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • Grease a 9-inch pie dish.

2. Mix batter

  • In a bowl, whisk melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well.
  • Stir in cocoa powder, flour, salt, and vanilla.
  • Mix until just combined (don’t overmix).
  • Fold in nuts or chocolate chips if using.

3. Bake

  • Pour batter into pie dish.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes.
  • The edges should be set, but the center will look slightly soft (that’s what makes it “fudge pie”).

4. Cool slightly

  • Let it sit for 10–15 minutes before slicing.
  • The center becomes fudgier as it cools.

  • Warm with vanilla ice cream 🍦
  • Drizzled with extra hot fudge sauce
  • Or topped with whipped cream
