These sticky honey garlic ribs are tender, glossy, and packed with sweet-savory flavorโ€”slow-cooked until soft, then coated in a caramelized garlic glaze.

๐Ÿ›’ Ingredients

  • 1.5โ€“2 kg pork ribs (baby back or spare ribs) Pork ribs
  • 1 tbsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika (optional)

For the sauce:

  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 6 cloves garlic (finely minced)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp vinegar (apple cider or white)
  • 1 tbsp ketchup (optional for body)
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional heat)
  • 1/2 cup water or broth

๐Ÿ”ฅ Step 1: Prepare the ribs

  • Remove the thin membrane from the back of ribs (important for tenderness).
  • Season with salt, pepper, and paprika.
  • Let sit for 30 minutes (or overnight for deeper flavor).

Oven method (best):

  • Wrap ribs tightly in foil.
  • Bake at 160ยฐC (320ยฐF) for 2.5โ€“3 hours until soft.

OR stove method:

  • Simmer in covered pot with a little water for 2โ€“2.5 hours.

  • Melt butter in a pan.
  • Add garlic and sautรฉ until fragrant (donโ€™t burn it).
  • Add soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, vinegar, ketchup, and water.
  • Simmer 5โ€“8 minutes until thick, shiny, and sticky.

  • Remove ribs from foil.
  • Brush generously with sauce.
  • Broil/grill at high heat for 5โ€“10 minutes.
  • Reapply glaze 2โ€“3 times for extra stickiness.

  • Rest for a few minutes before slicing.
