transformation occurred after applying apple cider vinegar to hair overnight.

Claims like “hair transformed overnight after applying apple cider vinegar” are usually exaggerated or misleading.

Apple cider vinegar (ACV) can have some limited, temporary effects on hair, such as:

  • Helping remove product buildup
  • Making hair feel slightly smoother or shinier due to its acidity (it can flatten the hair cuticle briefly)
  • Acting as a mild clarifier when diluted properly

But what it does not do:

  • It does not permanently repair damaged hair
  • It does not cause rapid growth or structural “transformation” overnight
  • It cannot reverse split ends or major damage
  • It won’t dramatically change hair texture or thickness in a single use

Also, using it undiluted or leaving it on overnight can actually irritate the scalp, cause dryness, or damage the hair cuticle due to its acidity.

When you see dramatic “before and after” claims online, they’re often influenced by:

  • Lighting differences
  • Styling changes
  • Temporary smoothing effects
  • Selective presentation of results

If you want, tell me what result you’re trying to achieve with your hair (growth, frizz control, dandruff, etc.), and I can suggest safer, evidence-based options.
