🍰 Tutti Frutti Cake (Soft, Moist & Colorful)

Tutti frutti cake is a classic bakery-style cake made with vanilla sponge and candied fruit bits—sweet, soft, and slightly chewy.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup butter (softened) or oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1½ tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup tutti frutti (candied papaya) tutti frutti
  • 1 tbsp flour (to coat fruits)
  • Pinch of salt

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep oven

  • Preheat to 180°C (350°F)
  • Grease and line a cake pan

2. Prepare fruits

  • Toss tutti frutti in 1 tbsp flour (prevents sinking in batter)

3. Make batter

  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  • Add eggs one at a time and mix well
  • Add vanilla extract

4. Combine dry ingredients

  • Sift flour, baking powder, and salt
  • Add to wet mixture alternately with milk
  • Mix gently (don’t overmix)

5. Add tutti frutti

  • Fold in coated tutti frutti evenly

6. Bake

  • Pour batter into pan
  • Bake for 35–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean

7. Cool & serve

  • Let it cool completely before slicing

💡 Tips for best cake

  • Don’t overmix after adding flour (keeps cake soft)
  • Coat fruits in flour so they don’t sink
  • Add a few chopped nuts for crunch (optional)
  • Works great with tea ☕

🍽️ Variations

  • Eggless version (use yogurt or condensed milk)
  • Pineapple tutti frutti twist 🍍
  • Cupcake version for individual servings

If you want, I can also give you a bakery-style eggless tutti frutti cake or a super fluffy sponge version like commercial bakeries 👍
