🎂 Yellow Butter Cake

A classic, soft, buttery cake with a rich golden crumb—perfect on its own or layered with frosting.


🧾 Ingredients

🎂 Cake batter

  • 2 cups (250g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup (225g) butter (softened)
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 4 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup (240ml) milk

👩‍🍳 Instructions

1. Prep

  • Preheat oven to 180°C (350°F)
  • Grease and line a cake pan

2. Mix dry ingredients

Whisk together:

  • flour
  • baking powder
  • salt

3. Cream butter & sugar

  • Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy
  • This step gives the cake its soft texture

4. Add eggs

  • Add eggs one at a time
  • Beat well after each
  • Mix in vanilla

5. Combine

  • Add dry ingredients in parts, alternating with milk
  • Mix gently until smooth (don’t overmix)

6. Bake

  • Pour batter into pan
  • Bake 30–40 minutes
  • Toothpick should come out clean

7. Cool

Let cake cool before slicing or frosting.
