Ingredients

  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup (180 ml) milk (warm)
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) oil or melted butter
  • 1 egg (optional, for richer rolls)

Instructions

1. Preheat

Set oven to 200°C (400°F) and lightly grease a baking tray.

2. Mix dry ingredients

In a bowl, combine:
flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

3. Add wet ingredients

Add warm milk, oil (and egg if using). Mix until a soft dough forms.

4. Shape rolls

Divide dough into 8–10 pieces and shape into small balls. Place on tray.

5. Bake

Bake for 12–15 minutes until the tops are golden.

6. Finish

Brush with melted butter right after baking for extra softness.


Tips

  • Don’t overmix the dough or rolls can get dense.
  • Warm milk helps activate the baking powder for better rise.
