Title: “Corridor Echoes”

INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY – DAY

A long hallway lined with lockers. The sound of distant footsteps and muffled classroom activity fades in and out.

A YOUNG CHILD stands near the lockers, visibly upset, tears running down their face. Their breathing is uneven, trying to steady itself but failing.

A few feet away, a PERSON approaches slowly. Their movements are careful, non-threatening, respectful of space.

They stop at a comfortable distance—not too close.

A pause.

The child doesn’t look up immediately.

The person lowers their voice.

PERSON
(gently)
Hey… do you want to tell me what happened?

The child hesitates. A shaky breath. A small shake of the head at first.

Silence stretches between them, but it doesn’t feel rushed.

The person crouches slightly to be at eye level, hands relaxed at their sides.

PERSON
It’s okay if you don’t want to talk right now.

A moment passes.

The child wipes their face quickly, embarrassed.

Then, a small nod.

The person listens without interrupting. No sudden movements. Just presence.

Down the hallway, life continues—students passing, doors opening and closing—but this space feels quieter, contained.

The child speaks in fragments. The person listens fully, occasionally nodding, never rushing the words.

As the conversation continues, the child’s breathing slowly steadies.

The tears don’t disappear immediately, but the intensity softens.

The person offers a small, reassuring gesture—nothing exaggerated, just steady support.

The hallway remains the same.

But the moment within it shifts.
