BBQ country style ribs

Posted on April 16, 2026April 16, 2026 by Admin

Country-style ribs aren’t actually ribs—they’re usually cut from the pork shoulder, which means they’re meatier and perfect for slow cooking until tender, then finishing with BBQ sauce.

🥩 Ingredients

  • 2–3 lbs country-style pork ribs
  • Salt & pepper
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite)
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar (optional)
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

🔥 Oven Method (best balance of easy + flavor)

  1. Preheat oven to 300°F (150°C)
  2. Season ribs with salt, pepper, and spices
  3. Wrap & bake
    • Place ribs in a baking dish
    • Cover tightly with foil
    • Bake for 2.5–3 hours until tender
  4. Sauce & caramelize
    • Remove foil, brush BBQ sauce
    • Broil or bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10–15 minutes until sticky and browned

🔥 Grill Method (for smoky flavor)

  1. Season ribs and cook over indirect heat (low heat side) for ~1.5–2 hours
  2. Brush BBQ sauce in the last 15–20 minutes
  3. Move to direct heat briefly to caramelize (watch closely to avoid burning)

🍲 Slow Cooker Method (super easy)

  1. Season ribs and place in slow cooker
  2. Add ½ cup BBQ sauce + vinegar
  3. Cook 6–8 hours on low
  4. Finish in oven or grill with extra sauce for that sticky crust

🍽️ Tips

  • Cook low and slow—this cut needs time to break down
  • Internal temp should hit ~195–205°F (90–96°C) for that fall-apart texture
  • Let them rest a few minutes before serving
  • Add a little liquid smoke if you want BBQ flavor without a grill

If you want, I can give you a spicy BBQ version, a dry rub recipe, or a Pakistani-style twist on these ribs.
