Posted on April 17, 2026 by Admin

🍫🍮 No-Bake Chocolate Custard Dessert

A smooth, creamy chocolate dessert layered with soft custard and biscuits—no oven needed. It sets in the fridge and tastes like a mix of pudding, mousse, and trifle.

🧾 Ingredients

🍫 Chocolate layer

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1½ tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1–2 tbsp butter (for shine, optional)

🍮 Custard layer

  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tbsp custard powder (vanilla or plain)
  • 2 tbsp sugar

🍪 Base

  • 1–2 packs digestive biscuits or tea biscuits
  • ½ cup milk (for dipping biscuits)

🍫 Optional topping

  • Chocolate shavings
  • Cocoa powder dust
  • Whipped cream

👩‍🍳 Method

1. Make custard layer

  • Mix custard powder with a little cold milk.
  • Heat remaining milk with sugar.
  • Add slurry and cook until thick and smooth.
  • Let it cool slightly.

2. Make chocolate layer

  • In a pan, mix milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and cornstarch.
  • Cook while stirring until thick like pudding.
  • Add vanilla and butter. Set aside.

3. Assemble

  • Dip biscuits briefly in milk and layer in a dish.
  • Add custard layer.
  • Add another biscuit layer.
  • Top with chocolate layer.

4. Chill

  • Refrigerate for at least 3–4 hours (overnight is best).

🍽️ Serving ideas

  • With whipped cream 🍦
  • With chocolate syrup drizzle
  • Topped with nuts or crushed biscuits

💡 Tips

  • Don’t overcook custard—it should be smooth, not rubbery
  • Let layers cool before assembling
  • Chilling is essential for clean slices

⚡ Quick 3-step version

  • Make custard + chocolate pudding
  • Layer with biscuits
  • Chill until set

If you want, I can also make a coffee-flavored tiramisu-style version, a fruit (banana/strawberry) twist, or a extra rich double chocolate mousse version.
