🥐🧀 Savory Puff Pastry with Minced Meat and Cheese

This is a flaky, golden puff pastry filled with seasoned minced meat and melted cheese—crispy outside, juicy and cheesy inside. It works as a snack, lunch, or party food.


🧾 Ingredients (makes 6–8 pieces)

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • 300–400g ground beef or lamb
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2–3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika or chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tsp dried oregano or mixed herbs
  • 1–2 tbsp oil

Cheese:

  • 1–1½ cups shredded mozzarella or cheddar

For brushing:

  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • Optional: sesame seeds or black seeds

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Cook the filling

  • Heat oil in a pan.
  • Add onion and cook until soft.
  • Add garlic and sauté briefly.
  • Add minced meat, salt, pepper, paprika, and herbs.
  • Cook until browned and moisture reduces (5–8 minutes).
  • Let it cool slightly.

2. Prepare pastry

  • Roll out puff pastry on a clean surface.
  • Cut into squares or rectangles.

3. Fill

  • Add a spoonful of meat mixture in the center.
  • Top with shredded cheese.

4. Seal

  • Fold into triangles or rectangles.
  • Press edges firmly with a fork to seal.

5. Bake

  • Place on baking tray lined with parchment.
  • Brush tops with beaten egg.
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds if desired.
  • Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes until golden and puffed.

6. Serve

  • Let cool slightly before eating (cheese will be very hot).
  • Serve warm with ketchup, garlic sauce, or chili mayo.
