Spinach and Cheese Puff Pastry Squares

Posted on April 17, 2026 by Admin

A flaky, savory snack that looks fancy but is surprisingly easy—great for tea time or quick guests.

🧾 Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
  • 1 cup spinach (fresh or frozen, chopped)
  • ½–1 cup cheese (cheddar, mozzarella, or feta)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • Salt & black pepper

👩‍🍳 Method

  1. Prep the filling
    • Cook spinach lightly (if fresh) until wilted, then squeeze out excess water.
    • Mix with cheese, salt, and pepper.
  2. Prepare pastry
    • Roll out puff pastry and cut into equal squares.
  3. Fill & fold
    • Place a spoon of filling in the center of each square.
    • You can leave them open (like little tarts) or fold corners slightly inward.
  4. Egg wash
    • Brush edges with beaten egg for that golden finish.
  5. Bake
    • Bake at 200°C (390°F) for 15–20 minutes until puffed and golden.

🍽️ Serving ideas

  • With tea or chai
  • As a party snack
  • With yogurt dip or ketchup

💡 Tips

  • Don’t skip squeezing spinach—extra water ruins the pastry
  • Feta gives a tangy flavor; mozzarella makes it stretchy
  • Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for extra texture

⚡ Quick 3-ingredient version

  • Puff pastry
  • Spinach
  • Cheese

Mix, fill, bake—done.

If you want, I can give you a bakery-style version with garlic butter and herbs or a crispy samosa-style fold using the same ingredients.
