🥩 Meat sauce (Bolognese)

  • Lasagne sheets (pre-cooked or oven-ready)
  • 1½–2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup cheddar or Parmesan (optional, for topping)

👨‍🍳 Instructions

1. Make the beef sauce

  • Heat oil in a pan
  • Sauté onion until soft
  • Add garlic, cook briefly
  • Add ground beef and brown well
  • Stir in tomato sauce, paste, and seasonings
  • Simmer 15–20 minutes until thick and rich

2. Make béchamel sauce

  • Melt butter in a saucepan
  • Add flour and cook 1 minute (no browning)
  • Slowly whisk in milk
  • Cook until smooth and slightly thick
  • Season with salt, pepper, and nutmeg

3. Assemble lasagne

In a baking dish, layer like this:

  1. Thin layer of meat sauce
  2. Lasagne sheets
  3. Béchamel sauce
  4. Cheese

Repeat layers until ingredients finish

4. Bake

  • Preheat oven to 180°C
  • Bake for 35–45 minutes
  • Top should be golden and bubbling

5. Rest before serving

  • Let it sit 10–15 minutes
